WhatsApp's disappearing messages come to iOS

WhatsApp is launching self-erasing messages and media for iOS after releasing the feature on Android in June, according to WABetaInfo. The beta version 2.21.140.9 is available on Testflight. WhatsApp is hoping to improve the quality and privacy of conversations on the app as users contemplate jumping to rival applications. WhatsApp lost millions of followers after announcing its new terms of services which allowed parent company Facebook and its divisions to collect user data, including phone numbers and location. While WhatsApp stalled to launch the update due to use backlash, it later decided to go ahead with the new privacy policy. However, users are encouraged to read it at “their own pace” and WhatsApp will also display a banner providing additional information.
